In July, according to Korean publication ET News, Kia will finally stop production of the Mohave/Borrego SUV. During the second half of the year, the Autoland-1 plant in Hwangseong, where the Kia Mohave has been assembled for the past 17 years, will be installing and setting up equipment for the production of another vehicle on a frame chassis – the latest Kia Tasman mid-size pickup truck.

The Kia Mohave was designed with the American market in mind, which explains its peculiar design at the intersection of crossover and SUV. Produced by Stellantis since last year, the subcompact crossover Jeep Avenger on the front-wheel drive Peugeot platform has received all-wheel drive modification 4xe.

All-wheel drive on Jeep Avenger 4xe is realized approximately as on Toyotas with E-Four system. The rear wheels are driven by an electric motor with a capacity of 21 kW.

Rear drive plays only an auxiliary role and is not activated for more than a few seconds. It is engaged when starting from a standing start, during intensive acceleration and can be activated forcibly in the “snow” and “mud” driving modes.

A second electric motor of exactly the same type acts as a starter-generator.

Honda has presented an updated Civic in specification for North America. The most popular compact car among “necrossovers” on the continent after modernization received a version with a hybrid transmission, slightly tweaked appearance and new options.

Outside, the Civic has a new front bumper with a hexagonal lower radiator grille and vertical air channels on both sides of it. The grille pattern is made up of hexagonal cells. Before the restyling, the radiator grilles of the Civic sedan and hatchback were different; now they are the same. In addition, diffusers of taillights of sedans became slightly tinted.

The main change of the updated Civic is, of course, the appearance of a version with hybrid drive (previously, the hybrid Civic of the current, 11th generation was offered in Japan and Europe, but not in North America). It is composed of a 2.0-liter atmospheric engine, a variator and two auxiliary electric motors. The total maximum power of the drive is 200 hp, peak torque – 315 Nm.
